Bolton IPMS Show 2011.Show Report.

The Bolton IPMS model show, held on the 16th of January is the first of this years shows to tempt the taste buds of the modeller to get out and wake up from his or her hibernation during the terrible weather we have had.

So at O.M.G(Oh my God hour) myself and the goodly Mrs Maher left a dark gloomy Birmingham and made our way north to Bolton arriving at the show at 08.50.The journey took at total of 1.50hr which was good, with most of the driving being motorway using the M6,62,60,61.

The venue for this years show was St Josephs School on Chorley New Road, Horwich. The parking on arrival was excellent, with one of the members directing you in to what was for us a prime spot infront of the main door. The main area of display was the central hall, with certain traders being allocated space in side rooms. This was different from the norm, but was the best usage of space for the show.

I had travelled up to display with the 580 modelllers and other members of Coventry IPMS had travelled up to display with other groups. Those being Martin,Trevor,Ivor and Ray.On reflection maybe we would like to display as a club in 2012 ?

Traders wise included Mr Models who had a good number of the new Vixens from Airfix for sale.Others were MDC,Little Cars,Paul Davies,Chris Summers of Kits Kits.New to me was Neil Robinson who i did not know is now working with Model Alliance.I would urge you to look at some their new lines. They are very good indeed.

Lastly and most importantly the models.I have a small selection of images for you to see.I hope you like them.

The big Stalwart with great engine detail.

The Pig on a very emotive diorama.

The word is Wow.These Starwars models were huge and very well made.

The attention to detail was awesome here
