Annual General Meeting 2011
This years A.G.M was held at the Midland Air Museum on the evening of the 4th of February 2011.The meeting started at just after 8pm.And started with the following reports from the committee.
Club Secretary
Stephen Lockhart gave an eloquent report of the clubs various displays at different shows during 2010.In this report he praised various members of the club,for their continuing sterling work.which has in turn made the club what it is today.Those people included Mike Haynes,Steve Roberts,James and Christine Maher,Will Williams amongst them.
Stephen has decided to stand down from his post after three years sterling service.Which has culminated in the club winning "Best Club" at the Nationals.The membership thanked Stephen for his loyal service and wished him well.Stephen will continue as a valued member of the club.Some of his time will now be taken up with his increasing Hot Rod collection.So watch out for him in the "Herman Munster" as he speeds around the lanes of Warks.
Treasurers Report.
Our treasurer Richard Brooker presented a report of the clubs finances.This showed the club to be in fine fettle.
Membership during 2010 was very strong and concluded at 421 persons attending over the year.This averaged out at 17.5 persons over 24 meetings.
Show Secretary
Carl Lewis reported on the shows attended by the the club during 2010 and our own show held in 2010.The unanimous conclusion was the club had been very active during 2010.With members supporting many a venue.
At this point the current committee was dissolved to make way for the election of posts for the 2011 committee.Firstly Club Secretary.Two nominations were taken namely those of Mike Haynes and James Maher.A vote was taken and Mike Haynes was voted as the New Secretary for 2011.Next Show Secretary.Again Two nominations were taken these being the outgoing Carl Lewis and a nomination by James Maher.Carl was again voted in as the Show Secretary.Lastly Treasurer.Only one nomination was received by Richard Brooker and Richard was again voted in as our Treasurer.It was decided to introduce a new post of Web Master,or as i like to call it "Web Meister".I James Maher was asked to take up the post officially which i gladly accepted.Again this was voted on and a unanimous decision given in favour of myself.
Lastly Display Cabinet Manager.This job has been given to Steve Roberts with myself James Maher assisting.This concluded the nominations for posts.
Other business
The floor was now open for any other business.I James Maher asked members to check their contact details so any amendments could be made.
I also brought up a request for members to curb minor conversations when the Committee are presenting club business.This was agreed by members.
Other shows including Arley and the Scottish Nationals were discussed and debated and will continue at the next meeting.
Lastly a presentation of flowers was giving to Dianne James of the Midland Air Museum for her sterling work in giving us all the many cups of tea.
